High Performance Envelope

A 100% concrete structure serves both as a protective shell from outside elements, and as an insulating barrier that stabilizes interior temperatures. A 60-mil, fleece-backed, white TPO roofing membrane and R-31.5 Icynene under-slab insulation complete the cool roof construction, which reflects around 87% of the sun's UV rays off the roof. The exterior walls of the home are insulated with 1.5” thick R-10 closed cell polyisocyanurate panels.


Separate Living Zones/ Energy Conservation

Using an eight-zone, automated AC system, each split system uses an environmentally friendly R-410a refrigerant, and has a minimum Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio (SEER) of 18. High-Volume Low-Speed fans, sized up to 10-ft in diameter, use 50% less energy. Air-conditioned space can be minimized based on occupancy.


Bamboo & Eco-Friendly Products

All cabinets and built-in casework are constructed out of bamboo, which regenerates 3-5 times faster than any wood species, allowing bamboo to have a lower environmental impact. All the paints use zero volatile organic compounds.

Water Conservation

Low-flow plumbing fixtures with EPA WaterSense are installed throughout the home. Sinks have a flow rate of 1.5 gpm; showers have a flow rate of 1.5 gpm, but maintain a high water pressure; toilets are ultra-low flow/dual-flush fixtures, using 1.28 gallons per full flush and 0.8 gallons per partial flush.


LED Lighting & ENERGY Star

LED lighting is used throughout the home to significantly reduce electricity consumption as well as eliminate bulb replacement in high ceilings. All of the appliances and built-in electronics throughout the home are Energy-Star rated.


Home Automation

The Home Automation System connects the HVAC, lighting, window shades, television, audio systems, security systems, and photovoltaic system to optimize the energy consumption and production in the home.
